Requirements for grant approvals:

Child must live in Arizona as defined by Arizona State Law.

Grant request should be based on serious financial need.

Financial need must be objectively verifiable.

Grant must be used to pay for treatment and/or improve the quality of the child's life.

An applicant may apply for assistance for past, current, or future therapy needs.
-
Grant should not be used for any therapy whose validity is dubious or lacks maturity as a science.
Examples of grants eligible for award * include:
-
Occupational therapy @ $90 per hour, twice a week, for 50 weeks = $9,000
-
Speech therapy @ $120 per hour, twice a week for 50 weeks = $12,000

Applied Behavioral Analysis Supervision = $100/hour X 6 hours per month x 12 months = $7,200
-
Twice Monthly one on one parent training $100/hour X 2 hours/month x 12 month = $2400 per year
-
Vitamin and mineral supplements = $100 per month for 12 months = $1,200
-
Augmentive Communication device (not covered by insurance or the State) = $3,000 - $6,000
-
Special diet trial period - gift certificate to natural foods store - three months @ $100 per month = $300

Floortime Training DVDs $475
-
Educational Advocate to advocate for proper programming for the child in school and oversight of that programming to ensure implementation @ $1,300 per year

Special Needs Camp, such as Chris' Camp, Whispering Hope or others $900 (2 nights); $4,000 (week)

Therapy supplies for ABA, Speech or OT programs - $500 - $1,500 annually (Z-Bibe, Picture Board, reinforcers, velcro, PECS binders, laminator, etc)

Fee for Attendance at Regional or National Autism Conference @ $300-$500

Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) DVD, 2 Day Introductory Workshop and 4 Day Intensive $2,600 plus out of state travel
